January 23 Yappy Hour Melbourne (5-8) You can start off the new year with a fun get together with local Animal Rescue groups. This event will be held at El Chico's Restuarant on Evans Road (adjacent to the Melbourne Square Mall and across from PetsMart). It will be in the outside patio area. This a fun chance to attend a function with your greyhounds and support local organizations. For details, check the special website www.yappyhourmelbourne.org

February 20 = Bark in the Park (9-1) Palm Bay Regional Off-Leash Dog Park located on Malabar Road .
This is a friendly gathering of rescue groups and pet service vendors.

February 21 - GPA Central Florida Annual Fundraiser
"Woofstock 2010 Festival & Reunion (11:30 to 4:00)

Plans are in full swing for this fun event. Please mark your calendars and spread the word. This years event will feature the "Gilley Greyhound Dancing, Singing & Comedy Review".

Other activities at the event include: Silent Auction, Raffles, Used Book Sale, Bake Sale, and Hound related Vendors. There will be several Hound Related games - "My Dog will Eat That", "Doggie Tic, Tac, Toe", and a "Couch Potato Sprint".

February 28 Cocoa Riverfront Park- Mardi Gras Paws in the Park (12-3) This Event brings together Rescue groups and vendors to support the Central Brevard Humane Society. It is a fun time to network with other per owners. Don't hesitate to call Vickie Smith at greyladie@cfl.rr.com and tell her you are available to help out

March 6 - Rescue Roundup. Downtown Melbourne (11-3) This Event is put together by Giftique in Historic downtown Melbourne. Here is a chance to network and support Rescue Groups in Brevard county.

March 6 - KSC Picnic (Kars Park - Merritt Island) (10 - 4) Volunteers are needed to pass out information about Greyhound Adoption at this event. Don't hesitate to call Vickie Smith at greyladie@cfl.rr.com

March 4-7 - Sandy Paws, Jekyll Island, GA. This three day event features everything Greyhound. The event is organized and presented by "Greyhound Guardians". Monies raised from this event help support greyhound adoption. We are very priviledged to be a recipient of donations from this Group. US192 & Evans Rd, Melbourne, Fl - Sat 1:30 - 3:00 PM (2nd & 4th weekend of the month when volunteers are available)

On Saturday or Sunday, when possible Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about greyhounds that we have available for adoption. This is a great opportunity to see what loving pets these retired racers make. We always need volunteers for these events. Please consider spending some time with your hounds and helping GPA. Our Foster Families are very special to us. These volunteers have completed a Foster Home Seminar and are the backbone of GPA. We are proud of our families who work with the greys and see them through their spay/neuter operation and help acclimate the greys to home life.
