Greyhound Pets of America - Central Florida

During the summer months, GPA refrains from participating in outdoor events. Dealing with Florida high temperatures and humidity tends to be unpredictable. While we plan on participation in events during the Fall, Winter and Spring, months if conditions of high humidity occur, we may have to refrain from attendance.

UPCOMING FUN EVENTS: The following is a list of Special Events that GPA will be participating during the next couple of months. Please mark your calendars.

February 19 – 11:30 – 4 “Woof-stock” GPA Central Florida will be hosting our annual fundraiser at the Indian Harbour Beach Recreation facility at Gleason Park (1233 Yacht Club Blvd, Indian Harbour Beach, FL). Preparations are in full swing for this event. Please mark your calendars and reserve the date. The event will feature Canine Contests, a Couch Potato Sprint, Ice Cream Social, Bake sale, Vendors, Live Auction, Raffles and more. This is a major undertaking for us and we are asking for your help in the following areas:

Tee-shirt Sponsors: We presently are soliciting for Tee-shirt sponsors. This year we have come up with a new design that we are really excited about. (We actually have 2 designs and are having a tough time deciding which one to use.) If you have or know a business that would like some advertisement, please consider being a sponsor. We have had members donate and have their beloved pets name put on the shirt. Sponsorships start at just $50. I’ve included a form with this grey-mail.
Raffle Items: A big part of Woof-stock is all the fun Raffles and Auction Items. If you have any items to donate or are able to acquire items, please let me know. I can arrange a pick up. Just remember this a perfect way to recycle those unused gift cards and help benefit the greyhounds.
Volunteer Opportunities: Woof-stock is a big undertaking for us and we rely heavily on volunteer help to make it a success. If you can spare some time and help out it will be greatly appreciated. March 3-4 Cocoa Village Arts & Craft Fair—Sat & Sun 10-4 It's time to enjoy the good Florida weather and promote greyhound adoption. Please contact Vicki Smith at 321-632-3502 or greyladie@cfl.rr.com and let her know you want to help out at our informational table.

ON-GOING EVENTS:

On Saturday or Sunday, when possible Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about greyhounds that we have available for adoption. This is a great opportunity to see what loving pets these retired racers make. We always need volunteers for these events. Please consider spending some time with your hounds and helping GPA. Our Foster Families are very special to us. These volunteers have completed a Foster Home Seminar and are the backbone of GPA. We are proud of our families who work with the greys and see them through their spay/neuter operation and help acclimate the greys to home life.
