Special Thanks for Making the Greyhounds the Real Winners!!!!
In the August 1 edition of “People Magazine”, Dennis Tyler & our group were
featured in their “Hero’s among us” section .
In September, Dennis Tyler was chosen to be one of nine finalist for the
“PEOPLE Readers’ choice Hero Campaign” sponsored by Jeep.
The winning charity of the heros selected would receive $10,000.
GPA Central Florida did not have the most votes in the contest; HOWEVER
The Editorial staff for People Magazine voted to give several of the candidates
the same donation of $10,000 thanks to the generosity of their sponsor, “Jeep”.
GPA Central Florida was one of their choices and
we will receive $10,000 to help the greyhounds.
The November 7 People Magazine issue
(available in stores on October 28)
has several pages dedicated to all the
2011 Heroes Among Us Award Recipients.
We want to extend a "Big THANK YOU" to People Magazine,
their Editorial Staff and Jeep for this award.
We also want to extend a "Special THANK YOU" to the
National Greyhound Community, our members and family of friends
for getting the word out and voting for the greyhounds
Animal lovers from all over the country have supported
us in this endeavor.
The National exposure and focus on "Greyhound Adoption"
has been priceless
